COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Voucher Update
Due to overwhelming response to our first free spay/neuter day, we have closed applications for this event/date. Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram for announcements of future dates.
Flying B Animal Rescue & Sanctuary is excited to announce a new initiative aimed at addressing the animal overpopulation problem in Ellis County - and all of Texas - by "snipping it in the bud". We are committed to making responsible pet ownership accessible to all community residents.
For every $7500 we raise, we will reserve a full day of services to sponsor low-cost spay/neuter surgeries for up to 100 pets in partnership with DeHart Veterinary Services and Spay Neuter Network. We use both DeHart and SNN for our rescue animals and can attest to the high quality services they provide. They are very important resources to our rescue.
The project is designed to serve socio-economically disadvantaged pet owners, educate residents who do not understand the health benefits of fixing their pets, and address the needs of the rural residents whose large livestock guardian dogs make spay/neuter cost prohibitive. Our goal is to reduce the number of "accidental" litters that are at risk of becoming strays and continuing the cycle of unwanted animals in our community.

Program Overview:
Prior to the spay/neuter day, we will announce that we are opening applications. Applications will be available on our website and will be prioritized based on need, then in order of submission. Once we have filled a schedule, we will issue vouchers via email to recipients. Please note that the schedule is based on species, sex, and weight of the animals, and larger dogs have fewer spots on the schedule.
Each voucher includes:
-
Spay or neuter surgery
-
Rabies vaccination, if proof of current vaccination is not provided
-
Microchip, if not already chipped
-
An e-collar for dogs
-
Optional services are available at the time of service for an additional cost to the client. These services include additional vaccinations, post-operative pain meds and/or antibiotics, nail trims, etc.

Vouchers are good for the specified date and location ONLY. If you are a voucher recipient and cannot make your appointment, please contact us so we can reallocate the voucher. If you no-show your appointment, you will not be awarded another voucher.
