800 SQUARE MILES. ZERO SHELTER.
Animals have nowhere to go.
No one's coming to save them...
but we're
BUILDING HOPE
FACTS:
-
With the exception of the animals within the city limits of Midlothian, Waxahachie, Red Oak and Ferris, there are NO SHELTERS for city or county animals - strays, owner surrenders, dumped litters, hoarding situations. That's 800 square miles with NO OPTIONS.
-
With no "forced annexations", more residents will remain reliant on county services.
-
County Animal Control has reverted ordinances back decades and will only assist with dangerous or injured animals - and that means immediate euthanasia.
We've had enough and we're going to do something about it.
Our animal crisis is growing. And it's glaringly apparent no one is coming to save the animals of Ellis County.

Flying B is doubling down on our commitment to our community. We are already trying to "snip" the problem in the bud, but the animals need us NOW.
Our goal is to have a public physical space where we can host volunteer days or adoption events the way we want to. That’s why our next big goal is to build a permanent home for the rescue—a place where the community can gather, meet our amazing dogs, and be part of something hopeful.

This vision isn’t just about kennels or walls. It’s about creating a space where compassion grows roots. And we can’t do it without you.
Flying B Animal Rescue & Sanctuary envisions a world where every animal is loved, cherished, and has a forever home. We envision a community where responsible pet ownership is championed, and all animals are valued members of society. Through our relentless dedication to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need, we aspire to inspire empathy, kindness, and respect towards all creatures, creating a brighter future for both animals and humans alike.
Our New Home

What's Next
We recently purchased 5 acres of land for our permanent rescue home that will enable us to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome more animals out. Our plans include renovating the existing ag barns Our vision includes:
-
Climate controlled barns with indoor/outdoor runs - ideally 20 runs.
-
Sponsors to support "cottages" where mama dogs and their puppies can live comfortably, without fear, and safe from diseases.
-
Lots of storage for food and supplies;
-
Two set of washers and dryers;
-
A kitchen with a dishwasher;
-
Several large refrigerators and freezers.

We envision greenspace to run in; a splash pool/pond to play in; an enrichment center to train and exercise in; a cat space with catio; and a healing center to get specialized care in.

And, of course, we'll have an awesome adoption center where you can meet and interact with our adoptable pets.
We're going to need a lot of VOLUNTEERS who are ready to help. We know you are out there because you've already asked. This will enable us to invite you to our rescue.

So whether you know people who can do a buildout, provide appliances etc, or if you can give your time, there will be a place for you at Flying B!

It's a BIG dream but the animals need us.
