GET INVOLVED
There are many ways to support your community rescue beyond adoption and donations. You can volunteer your home or your time.

Our foster program allows Flying B Rescue to save more animals than we can care for in-house. Dogs who spend time in foster homes are often better socialized, more confident, and more prepared when they head off to their forever families.

We’re also always looking for volunteers to walk dogs or take them out for Doggy Day Outs (DDO). If you’ve ever wanted the joy of having a dog just for a day, DDO is a wonderful experience for both you and the dog—and it gives them much-needed one-on-one time.

FOSTERING SAVES LIVES
Fostering a dog is a rewarding experience that helps save lives! While specific requirements may vary by dog, here are the general things needed to foster:

Basic Foster Requirements
-
Age – Fosters must be at least 18 years old and have permission from their landlord (if renting).
-
Safe Home – A secure home where the foster dog will be loved, cared for, and kept safe. A fenced yard is helpful but not always required.
-
Time and Commitment – The ability to provide food, exercise, socialization, and basic training. Foster periods can range from a few weeks to a few months.
-
Transportation – The ability to bring the dog to vet appointments, adoption events, or meet-and-greets.
-
Other Pets & Family Members – Willingness to introduce the foster dog properly to existing pets and ensure a good fit.

VOLUNTEER WITH US
Before a dog finds their forever home, a lot of caring hands make that journey possible. Volunteers help walk dogs, keep kennels clean, capture great photos, deliver supplies, coordinate care, and support the people and pets in our community. Whether you have an hour to spare or a special skill to share, there’s a place for you to help change an animal’s story.
Hands-On With the Dogs
Spend time with the reason we’re all here—the dogs. These roles focus on exercise, enrichment, and helping them shine while they wait for their forever homes.

Care & Comfort Crew
This is the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the whole rescue running. Clean spaces and fresh bedding make a huge difference in the dogs’ health and happiness.

Spread the Word
Every great adoption story starts with someone seeing a dog and falling in love.

Events & Fundraising
The fun side of saving lives. These roles help bring the community together to support the rescue.
Foster Support & Transport Team
Help deliver supplies, coordinate care, and give pets a ride to vet appointments when they need it most.
Fix-It & Build-It Crew
A rescue property always has a project or two waiting.

Doggy Day Out
Doggy Day Outs give our residents an opportunity to gain useful life skills and be mentally stimulated by new experiences and people!

NHS Barketing Team
We welcome NHS Students to earn volunteer hours repping a dog who needs a home.
