Namaste Spay & Neuter Initiative
Helping Prevent the Next Litter
Flying B Animal Rescue & Sanctuary is honored to receive a grant from the Jason Heigl Foundation Namaste Spay & Neuter Initiative.
This generous grant allows Flying B Rescue's Snip It in the Bud program to expand access to free spay and neuter services for families in our community—because the best way to address pet overpopulation is to prevent unwanted litters before they happen.
Through this grant, Flying B will partner with Dehart Veterinary Services to provide free spay and neuter appointments during our regular second-Tuesday community events at Walmart Ennis in October, November, December, and January.
Appointments are required, and a $15 deposit is collected to reserve your spot. Appointments can be scheduled directly through Dehart Veterinary Services by phone, email, or online.
Every spay and neuter means fewer unwanted puppies, fewer animals entering an already stretched rescue and shelter system, and more families able to keep the pets they love.

The Fine Print
General Animal Requirements:

Patients must be older than 8 weeks and/or over 2 pounds.

Patients must be less than 6 years old unless an "Against Medical Advisement" form is signed or pre-anesthetic bloodwork is performed.

Pets should not have any food after midnight the night before.

Dehart does not have a weight limit but patients must be able to comfortably fit inside the mobile cages.

Dehart does all dog breeds including bulldog breeds, whippets and greyhounds.

If a female dog/cat has recently had a litter, the puppies must be weaned.

Animals should not have a history of seizures, or be overweight, i.e. fat
-
Proof of rabies vaccination within the last year is required. Please bring a rabies certificate to check-in (a rabies tag is NOT sufficient) or a vaccination will be required at surgery.
- Cats should be brought in a hard sided carrier lined with something absorbent.
- Dogs need to be brought on a leash, or in your arms (for smaller pets).

If your dog is a bite risk, please muzzle your dog at home before you leave for your surgery or wellness appointment.

Dehart reserves the right to deny any animal if, after the initial examination, they determine the surgery is too risky.
Covered Services:

All spay/neuter surgery-related charges, including in-heat, pregnant, pyometra, cryptorchid, umbilical hernias, etc.

MANDATORY microchip for pets, or eartip for community cats

MANDATORY rabies vaccine, if proof is not provided

Recovery cone (recommended for dogs)

Take home pain meds (recommended)

Basic pre-anesthetic bloodwork for senior pets
